April 24 Loyalty Market Update

AUSTRALIA
- Qantas Frequent Flyer will offer 20 million new rewards seats (5 million were previously available) in the biggest-ever revamp of the program following its biggest reputational crisis in recent history. The new rewards seats come at a cost of $120 million in the 2025 financial year, mainly in lost ticket revenue.
- The new David Jones credit card issued by Latitude Financial Services has been launched to replace the previous American Express co-brand.
- Coles is trialing a subscription very similar to Woolworths Supermarkets Everyday Extras. Called Coles Plus Saver.
NEW ZEALAND
- One New Zealand (previously Vodafone) has launched a loyalty program called One Wallet.
- AIA released a new Vitality app. There are several changes to the program, including Event Cinemas discounted ticket prices increasing to $14 and the New Balance discount dropping from 30% to 25%.
