SUMMARIES
Australia
- Rex Airlines goes into administration and freezes its loyalty program while Chemist Warehouse, Coles and Woolworths are chasing the Retail Media Network performance of Walmart. IGoDirect launches Asia Pacific’s first web-to-wallet for Visa and Kognitiv sells its enterprise platform.
- Freedom is unlocking latent value in their myFreedom loyalty program to drive repeat visitation and sales.
- Department store Myer’s planned merger with Premier Investments is an opportunity to grow the Myer One loyalty program into Premier's brands Just Jeans, Jay Jays, Portmans, Jacqui E, and Dotti.
New Zealand
- The regulator’s thinking more cuts to interchange (which funds all credit card loyalty programs) including cutting it to zero.
- Virgin Australia and Air New Zealand are proposing a new alliance in which Virgin customers would earn Velocity Frequent Flyer points and status credits on Air New Zealand flights between Australia and New Zealand. Approved by the Australian regulator it's yet to be approved by New Zealand’s Ministry of Transport.
