SUMMARIES
Australia
- Bank loyalty rewards polarise with Commonwealth Bank adding travel to its app and loyalty programs (with Hopper) while Westpac leads with Pay With Points in store. Politix re-platforms (onto Antavo) and a new multi-loyalty app launches (from Slyp).
- The Australian Banking Association found banks spent Au$ 1.5 billion over the last 6 years to make Open Banking (or the Consumer Data Right - CDR) work but only 0.3% of customers use it (or about 197,000 active arrangements).
- Myer’s bid to merge with clothing business Premier Investments (717 stores across Just Jeans, Jay Jays, Portmans, Jacqui E, and Dotti) is an opportunity for Myer to grow its Myer One loyalty program.
New Zealand
- Qantas Frequent Flyer now has a million Kiwi members and a new rewards seat offering.
- Woolworths new Everyday Rewards loyalty program will add group companies Petstock (16 stores) and Milkrun as points-earning partners. Petstock's online-only competitor, Petdirect.co.nz offers Air New Zealand Airpoints.
